Bonus footage of my first attempt at Master difficulty can be found here. I’d suggest that the difficulty level is aimed towards casual rhythm game players as even the highest difficulty levels felt easy to pass and reasonably difficult but not impossible for a decent player to get a high rank. I found that the difficulty levels were fairly distinct, which each being a big leap up from the previous one. Not all stages have Master difficulty, but those which do require it to be unlocked by earning an S-rank on the hard mode of that stage first. The amount of enemies and obstacles which appear depends on the difficulty mode. Running into the obstacles or enemies depletes the health bar. Occasionally you may need to hold one, press both together or quickly press both repeatedly for certain enemies. Most of the time you just use these to attack enemies or dodge obstacles. One brings you to the ground level and attacks, while the other has the character jump and perform an air attack. Your character constantly runs while you use two buttons or keys to control them. The basic gameplay of Muse Dash is fairly simple. This is all done to upbeat music, most often Chinese pop. In this game, the player dashes through 40 stages, taking out enemies, dodging obstacles and collecting points while trying to survive to the end of the level. This review is based on my experience playing the Steam version of the base game. ![]() The Nintendo Switch version could be considered a complete edition with significantly more songs, but the other versions are separated into a base game for a lower price and DLC music packs. The game can be purchased on Steam (PC), Nintendo Switch and for mobile devices. ![]() It combines the ideas of traditional music games with aspects such as enemies, health bars and earning abilities. Thank you to the wonderful creators of this game.Muse Dash is an anime-themed rhythm game. I absolutely fell in love with this amazing game all the way back in 2018 and until now in 2020. The animation, gameplay, characters, songs, aesthetic, and everything is a 10/10. You have to unlock characters, but if you play a lot it’s quite easy to get them all. The characters are well designed and are absolutely adorable. ![]() The songs are unique and super catchy and (from what I’ve seen) not that popular, but they also have more popular ones as well such as FREEDOM DiVE, Brain Power, PUPA, -+, Lyrith, Halcyon, etc. It’s definitely not your typical rhythm game, rather more reading heavy, like Taiko or Osu, not like BanG Dream! or Arcea. But concerning the game and the gameplay it’s super fun. I play it on and off now a days since I’ve unlocked everything and there’s not much to do other than buy packs, which I can’t do since I don’t really have any online money. I actually pre-ordered this game, so it’s definitely been quite a while. I’ve been playing this game ever since this came out and I absolutely love it. i will continue to support the team and this game and looking forward to grabbing some of the merch sometime (y’all have got to check their store, they have some of the cutest and aesthetic shirts i would DIE to have lol.)ġ0/10 game i always recommend it to my friends and easy to pick up and play anytime if u wanna kill 5 minutes to an hour an or more ![]() honestly idk what i can say about this game that hasn’t already been said but it’s a good purchase if ur into jpop/cpop and vocaloid and lofi sounding kind of tunes. there are plenty of easy to medium difficulty songs if ur not a fan of the harder songs. i think level 10 is the hardest a level can be. at first i couldn’t even really do songs above level 7 but after a lot of playing i can do 8/9! they’re pretty challenging but i feel like if i played enough and learned the timings i could get S ranks on those. they’re constantly adding new songs and new illustrations. The art is so good and honestly inspirational to me as an artist myself. Just wanna show my appreciation as someone who bought this game over a year ago and all the dlc and i jumped to buy it on switch when it released (limited edition too!!!)
